Student Loans & Scholarships

Cherokee State Bank offers a variety of loan and scholarship options that can assist you in paying for college.To apply for student loans and/or scholarships please scroll down through the menu below and select the electronic E-Sign format to submit your application. A PDF is provided for your convenience. 

When completing E-Sign applications, please have the following items available for upload. These include your essay and/or driver's license and transcripts when applicable. 

Student Loan Applications are open for the 2025 year til May 1.

Scholarship Applications are closed for the 2025 year.

The guidelines for these trusts are as follows:


Educational Loans

Pritchard Educational Fund - PDF Form : ESign Form   

  • Applicant is a graduate of Cherokee Washington High School
  • Former graduates can reapply for student loan funds
  • The average loan in years past was $4,500.00

Robert Brunk Educational Fund- PDF Form : ESign Form   

  • Applicant is a resident of Cherokee County
  • Former graduates can reapply for student loan funds
  • The average loan in years past was $3,000.00

William L. and Ethel Gund Memorial Fund - PDF Form : ESign Form   

  • Applicant is a graduate of MMC or MMCRU High School
  • Former graduates can reapply for student loan funds
  • The average loan in years past was $9,000.00

Robert Hartwig Charitable Trust - PDF Form : ESign Form  

  • Applicant is a graduate or resident of the former Aurelia School district or Cherokee Community School district only
  • Former graduates may reapply 

Specht Educational Trust -  PDF Form : ESign Form 

  • Applicant is a graduating senior and resident of Cherokee County  

Scholarship Information

Montiford and Mary Beck Doupe Scholarship Fund - PDF Form : ESign Form  

  • Applicant is a graduating senior and resident of Cherokee County
  • Former graduates may reapply
  • Open to students pursuing studies in a medical field

E. Joe Lundsgaard Educational Trust

  • Applicant is a graduate of Cherokee Washington High School
  • Applicant to attend University of South Dakota
  • Applicant must contact the University of South Dakota for application and additional information

Fannye Ament Educational Fund- PDF Form: ESign Form  

  • Applicant to be a graduating senior from a high school in Cherokee County

Florence Frisbie Educational Fund - PDF Form : ESign Form 

  • Applicant to be a graduating senior from a high school located in Cherokee County

Brummer-Stiles-Duncan Scholarship Fund - PDF Form : ESign Form 

  • Applicant to be a graduate from a high school located in Cherokee county 
  • Former graduates can reapply for scholarship funds

Nonken Trust - PDF Form : ESign Form 

    • Applicant is a graduating senior and resident of Cherokee County
    • Preference will be given to children or family members of service veterans
